Tiezzi Imports, LLC started in September 2008 when our good friend Emanuele, producer of a magnificent cold pressed extra virgin olive oil mentioned that he would love to sell his product in the US. We were sitting around after dinner in Pozzo della Chiana, my father-in-law, Marivo’s hometown, enjoying a glass of wine when I decided that I would try to make his wish come true. With a real estate career in full swing, my husband, our two growing boys and house to take care of, I didn’t quite know how this would work… but I knew I wanted to help. Emanuele’s dad was one of Marivo’s best friends and Marivo was very special to me. What better way to honor his memory than to help his friends. I ordered 80 cases, to test the market with my sphere of influence and by the time it arrived at the dock it was all sold!! Then 200 cases and so on…all sold to friends of friends of friends!

“Tutti Amici” means “all friends”. It has proven to be the perfect name for the product since our friends in Italy are producing it for our friends in the US to enjoy! Friends helping friends…the way the world should be.

I know that my father-in-law is looking down proudly. I wonder if he thinks, well she isn’t Italian but she definitely shares my passion for friends and Italy.
